WEEK 10 LANSLEY DOES IT AGAIN!

With players Luke Mayes, Daniel Mayes, Eamonn Martin Snr, Ahmed Ibrahim all being side lined through injures and other commitments, Left 6 players remaining and these were 6 power house players causing tough draws in every single match.
Simon Hardie, Ian Raftery, Daniel Mayes, Eamonn Martin Jnr, Jenny Gray & Paul Lansley all played great tennis, and all worked tirelessly for the points available but it was Paul Lansley who stole the show again playing unbelievable tennis throughout the night with 3 wins from 3 matches.
"I know i can beat any body here and they all know it, playing and beating world number one Simon Hardie was just the icing on the cake for me tonight" smirked a very happy Paul Lansley

The Basildon Superset Tennis Championships regrets to inform its players that this weekends tennis championships have had to be cancelled due to being that there are no courts available.
But the good news is that it WILL be on the following Sunday night 7 - 9 pm without doubt, if you want to play please text me your name to say you are available and i can then do the draw as soon as possible.

WEEK 8 LEAGUE TABLE

PAUL LANSLEY SIGNS 4 YEAR DEAL WITH POWER BALANCE

Daniel Mayes securing his first BSTC title
"I'm ecstatic, I'm just so happy, I wasn't so sure about playing the play off game against Simon as my shoulder was hurting alot, but can you believe how good i played! i am so happy my game is finally back" smiled Daniel


Simon Hardie sent packing, a happy but disappointed world number one.
"It hurt me losing to Daniel but i won all 15 points and I'm just relieved i have extended me lead at the top of the championships" gloated Simon


Ian Raftery blaming Ahmed Ibrahim for spoiling his big day
"I cant believe him! I'm so disappointed by his behavior, it grieves me!" Weeped Ian.

"he can say what he wants, i know he is spreading rumours around about my behaviour but he is no one and has no right to do that about me! i think he knows I'm improving and doesn't like it, and in all fairness i was cheated out of that match! i didn't say anything at the time but some of the calls he gave me were atrocious!" shrugged Ahmed.

"I'll take anything and by taking 5 points each week I'm silently moving up the table without anyone really realising" a very sweaty Simon Mayes told us.

"I'm extremely happy with my week, i might have not taken any points but believe me for a second i could have easily taken all 15 the difference between the other players and me is not that great and its closing every week, i really feel i had Simon Hardie worried today!" FIRST TIME SUCCESS FOR DANIEL MAYES

Daniel Mayes captured his first title this year in what was a perfect night for him, rumours circled hours before the event started was that he was injured and looking to pull out, but he was talked around by his physio and he never looked back.

Daniel played his brother in the first round and won impressively 6 - 2 playing almost faultless tennis.

In the second round he faced Ahmed Ibrahim a man which is impressively on the rise on the tour, Daniel came out firing blasting Ahmed into mars with another 6 - 2 victory, Ahmed seeming a shadow of his last weeks performance against brother Luke.

The Third round saw Daniel Play Eamonn Martin Jnr a playing that Daniel really struggles against and when the draw was made you could see Daniel's shoulders drop, Eamonn Martin Jnr really isn't the same playing that everyone feared and Daniel soon realised this after the first few games smashing Eamonn Martin Jnr 6 - 1, Daniel was really impressive form.

But the tale of this story doesn't end there Daniel Mayes then realised World number one Simon Hardie was level on points and games against it was a draw, Simon Hardie beating Ahmed Ibrahim 6 - 2 Jenny Gray 6 - 3 and sealing it with a amazing bagel against Simon Mayes, No one saw that coming.

With both playing sharing the honours for this week a final game would then be played for the honour of taking the medal home with them, both players agreeing, and Daniel Mayes electing to serve, Simon confident but Daniel masterful, Daniel wins to love, Daniel falls to his knees and weeps, his first title and what a better way to win it.

Ian Hardie just missing out this week thanks to an impressive Ahmed Ibrahim who lost to Ian, but taking a game to much for Ian to share the title.
"I was robbed, I'm disgusted by Ahmed's behaviour in that match, i believe if there was some sort of umpire there i would have won, his calls were atrocious!" fired an angry Ian Raftery

TBSTC star Luke Mayes has lifted the ''lid'' on his recent surge up the ranking into 3rd spot.

Mayes, 28, puts the current form down to his love of yoghurts, and in particular the new Yoo range.
