SIMON HARDIE BEFOE HE WAS FAMOUS

Simon Hardie Before He Was Famous

Every so often we think about new ideas and look for stories we can update you with, and yesterday Rachel in the office came up with an idea ....BEFORE THEY WERE FAMOUS, so with this in mind we dug deep in the history folders and found an article on the BSTC world number one Simon Hardie, as a junior he worked for Pirelli tyres and apparently was very successful at what he did, managing to go from office junior to company manager within 7 months.
Thankfully Simon has traded the tyres for tennis and what a great decision that really was for him and most importantly us.

AHMED IBRAHIM TO LAUNCH MUSIC CAREER?

Ahmed Ibrahim's self titled album "AHMED"

Rumours are rife that the BSTC star Ahmed Ibrahim is on the verge of becoming Bruno Mars's body double sound a like and look a like.

It was reported yesterday in the times paper that Bruno Mars was seeking a partner for his new album and after seeing his idol Ahmed Ibrahim late last night a deal has apparently been struck, when or how this will happen we don't know but we are very excited about this development.

We contacted Ahmed Ibrahim this morning for any information and he said "Bruno and me are very close and i know he wants me to be apart of his next project EARTH TO MARS i just don't know how i can fit this in, it would be good but I'm not sure if i want a partner, i have produced my own album and have a dozen songs left over so i have to think about myself first and my main priority my tennis" smirked Ahmed

Stay tuned for more on this story as it breaks.

LANSLEY TAKES SECOND TITLE AS LUKE MAYES CHOKES

Week 7 Champion Paul Lansley

This week saw 5 courts being occupied in what was to be the longest lasting championships in the BSTC history.

With competitors Simon Hardie, Daniel Mayes, Ian Raftery, Luke Mayes, Eamonn Martin Jnr, Simon Mayes, Paul Lansley, Eamonn Martin Snr, Jenny Gray & Eamonn Martin Snr competing, this was always going to be a tough one no matter what the draw threw up.

Luke Mayes was on top form again beating Jenny Gray 6 - 0 then playing world number 3 Ian Raftery and winning very easily 6 - 2 in 20 Minutes, he then played Ahmed Ibrahim a match which would decide the fate of this weeks championship, Luke started very poorly and Ahmed capitalized on this taking it to his opponent and he really did, Luke found himself at 3 - 3 with 5 minutes remaining and then stepped up his game to win 5 - 3 but with this result only taking 3 points from the full 5 that was on offer, Ahmed Ibrahim shocked the world with this result sending out wild celebrations around the tennis world and stating himself as a player in the making that now will surly go on to greater things.

Luke Mayes chocked badly this week and by only taking 3 points handing the title to Paul Lansley who rained in the fame again taking his second title and the prized Easter egg, Paul came through some stern challenges beating Eamonn Martin Jnr 6 - 2 then beating his dad Eamonn Martin Snr 6 - 0 and then the all important match against Daniel Mayes 6 - 4.

WEEK 6 THE MON MARTIN WINS MONTE CARLO

Eamonn Martin Monte Carlo Week 6 Winner

This week saw 8 players battle it out for the most famous prize in tennis history, and that’s for there name to be written in history on the winners list for Monte Carlo in the BSTC.

Players such as world number one Simon Hardie, Ian Raftery, Daniel Mayes, Luke Mayes, Eamonn Martin Jnr, Simon Mayes, Eamonn Martin Snr and Ahmed Ibrahim all competed for this week’s prized trophy.

It was played under some of the hottest conditions which saw all the players competing struggle for fitness but we definently saw some of the most entertaining tennis yet.

Amazing matches from Simon Hardie Vs Luke Mayes, which saw Simon going 4 – 0 up to finding himself draw 4 - 4 with Luke Mayes stunning his opponent and almost winning it, Ian Raftery losing to Eamonn Martin Jnr 4 – 6 in what saw Eamonn Martin Jnr starting slow but finishing far superior to his slumping opponent.
Then we saw Eamonn Martin Snr Vs Eamonn Martin Jnr, Snr playing amazing tennis and only just losing this match to Jnr 6 – 3 but Snr showing more and more signs that things are looking up.
Luke Mayes vs Simon Mayes, Simon taking a big lead 3 – 1 and in total control, saw Luke struggling with fitness and on the brink of losing but Luke digged deep and pulled off an incredible win, 6 – 4.
We had Ahmed Ibrahim playing Daniel Mayes in which was there first meeting, both new to each others games, but played in fantastic style from both players, great rallies and in general a great match, Daniel taking this 6 – 1 but again Ahmed showing that he is more then capable of turning his seasons campaign around.

And match of the day was without doubt, Simon Hardie Vs Daniel Mayes, the last match of the day with a lot riding on it, points, records and pride. The match started with a huge shock, Simon Hardie going 4 – 0 down in less then 8 minutes and only taking 3 points from Daniel Mayes, Daniel playing at his very best, something that no one has seen from him yet, leaving Simon stunned, but then Simon thought back, 1 – 4 , 2 – 4 , 3 – 4 then 4 – 4! He was back! But then Simon serving for a 5 – 4 lead turning in a very tired service game, Daniel broke, with Daniel looking the much fitter of the two, Daniel eventually pushing himself through the finishing line and making headlines beating the world number one 6 – 4. amazing match

But it was neither of these two players that would be picking up this weeks Monte Carlo title, it was Eamonn Martin Jnr who caused the shock picking up all 15 points and only dropping 7 games all day, is the wonder kid that had so much potential back? Who knows but on this showing, he has the world taking about him, and showing the rest of the BSTC players they now have someone that can challenge at the top, congratulations Eamonn Martin Jnr.

SIMON HARDIE REALLY WINDS IAN RAFTERY UP

Simon Hardie really winds Ian Raftery up

In an emotional interview last night Ian Raftery exclusively poured out his heart to TBSTC.

"I'll admit it, i have not been no where near my best recently, i have had so much going on in my head, I'm just not that happy in myself, I'm down, I'm depressed, I feel bullied by the other players, yesterday i admitted myself into the priory clinic, and even though its only been a day i feel a better person" Teary eyed Ian Raftery said.

"My Doctor asked whats been the highlight of my career and i told him, the first two weeks of this years championship, it was perfect i made the best start possible, but then Simon Hardie joined and from then on it all went wrong, i cant play him, he seems to just be there everywhere, i can not put a point away, HE REALLY WINDS ME UP!" Screamed an emotional Ian Raftery

He later on declared this week it will be different his doctor has helped alot, put his demons to bed and now he feels he can now move on, this weeks championships in Monte Carlo will be the most interesting yet.

MAYES CONTINUES WINNING STREAK AND TARGETS NUMBER 2 & 1 SPOT

TBSTC World number 3 Daniel Mayes has set his sights on gaining the number 2 spot this weekend with a later push on consolidating himself as the number 1 star.

Mayes continued his empathatic record against his older brother, Luke Mayes, making it 10 sets won out of the last 12 after a 6-1 4-6 6-3 victory last night.

''I feel im too powerful for my sibling, and hes just not enjoying his tennis at the moment'' smirked the 24 year old

''I have his number, on court its like a constant demolition and i can see him getting disheartened each time, but hey i play to win'' he blasted

Mayes then went on to blast fellow BSTC stars Ian Raftery and Simon Hardie, stating he was ''A better player than both together''

''I was unlucky against Simon last week, i should've won but i switched off, i look to avenge the defeat as soon as possible'' he stated

''And as far as Rafftery is concerned, mark my words, i WILL take his number two spot, and i cant wait to face him on court, it will be 'man vs boy' next time will play and i WILL be ruthless''

Mayes is currently 3 points behind Raftery and could move above him should he have a good week.

Stay tuned for the latest goings on from TBSTC....

THE WEEK 5 BSTC LEAGUE TABLE

The Week 5 BSTC Table 2011

The big mover this week was Paul Lansley going from bottom to 7th in the table in his first competitive start.
"It was a tough decision coming out of retiirement, i was loving the easy life, but when i kept seeing the headlines Hardie wins this Hardie wins that, i knew i still had the game to stop these pathetic headlines! Hardie you better be scared because im looking more and more forward to our meeting! believe me!!" shirked a confident looking Paul Lansley.

Ian Raftery still holding the second spot, but only just, the difference between 2nd and 4th is as little as a 7 points, Luke Mayes slipping to 4th after losing his 3rd place to bother Daniel Mayes.

The next big mover was Eamonn Martin Snr moving from zero points and bottom place to 10th place after securing his first compitetive match win over new comer Ahmed Ibrahim.

WEEK 5 CHARLESTON WILD CARD TAKES THE TITLE

Paul Lansley Week 5 Champion

Week 5 saw all competitors gunning to take as much points from this weeks competition as possible, with a total of 15 points each winnable saw all players at there best.

This week we saw two new players Ahmed Ibrahim and late wild card entry Paul Lansley.
Ahmed Ibrahim taking his first footsteps into the tour knows he has a lot to work on to make a real name for himself but after this weeks showing knows its more then possible.
And then there is Paul Lansley who returns to the tour after retirement in 2002, Paul is a huge server with a devastating forehand and clinical volleying, a real contendor for the championship.

Players involved Luke Mayes, Daniel Mayes, Simon Mayes, Jenny Gray, Simon Hardie, Ian Raftery, Eamonn Martin jnr, Eamonn Martin Snr, Paul Lansley & Ahmed Ibrahim, this marks all ten players to grace all 5 courts, making this weeks tennis the biggest yet.

Round one saw 5 top quality matches but pick of this round was Simon Hardie defeating Daniel mayes 7 – 5 in which saw a match of the highest quality possible, Daniel mayes should have taken this match easily but mentally he was not ready for the win, and Simon Hardie proving to Daniel the real difference between 1st and 4th place, Simon playing some incredible tennis in what was an amazing match.

Round Two pick was Daniel Mayes vs Luke Mayes with Daniel suffering a defeat earlier that night and Luke Mayes searching for more points, it was Daniel Mayes making the waves with long rallies winning points in emphatic fashion, Daniel Mayes really was at his best winning 6 – 4.

Round Three saw Eamonn Martin Snr vs Ahmed Ibrahim, what was billed THE BATTLE FOR THE FIRST POINTS saw each player more determined then ever to win, this was a real fine tennis match with both players giving it 100% leaving everything on the court and it really showed.
Ahmed Ibrahim showing why he is here on the tour with his speed and determination but it was Eamonn Martin Snr who dominated this match winning the big points and the long rallies, Eamonn taking the match 6 – 3 and taking home his first 5 points from the tour.

It was a big week of tennis with Simon Hardie taking 15 points but also wild card Paul Lansley, it came down to games against and the winner this week was………………………………non other then the wild card Paul Lansley with Paul just conceding a record of 2 games, congratulations Paul, the winner of week 5 of the BSTC’s.

A special mention goes to Ian Raftery who played a lot better tennis this week collecting 10 points and holding down his number two spot, he commented “This is why I’m here not to make up the numbers like I’ve heard people saying! Its about being number one! I am the best, you just watch! If it wasn’t for Simon this week I would have won, He just winds me up!!!!” uttered a miserable Ian.
