Week 5 saw all competitors gunning to take as much points from this weeks competition as possible, with a total of 15 points each winnable saw all players at there best.

This week we saw two new players Ahmed Ibrahim and late wild card entry Paul Lansley.
Ahmed Ibrahim taking his first footsteps into the tour knows he has a lot to work on to make a real name for himself but after this weeks showing knows its more then possible.
And then there is Paul Lansley who returns to the tour after retirement in 2002, Paul is a huge server with a devastating forehand and clinical volleying, a real contendor for the championship.

Players involved Luke Mayes, Daniel Mayes, Simon Mayes, Jenny Gray, Simon Hardie, Ian Raftery, Eamonn Martin jnr, Eamonn Martin Snr, Paul Lansley & Ahmed Ibrahim, this marks all ten players to grace all 5 courts, making this weeks tennis the biggest yet.

Round one saw 5 top quality matches but pick of this round was Simon Hardie defeating Daniel mayes 7 – 5 in which saw a match of the highest quality possible, Daniel mayes should have taken this match easily but mentally he was not ready for the win, and Simon Hardie proving to Daniel the real difference between 1st and 4th place, Simon playing some incredible tennis in what was an amazing match.

Round Two pick was Daniel Mayes vs Luke Mayes with Daniel suffering a defeat earlier that night and Luke Mayes searching for more points, it was Daniel Mayes making the waves with long rallies winning points in emphatic fashion, Daniel Mayes really was at his best winning 6 – 4.

Round Three saw Eamonn Martin Snr vs Ahmed Ibrahim, what was billed THE BATTLE FOR THE FIRST POINTS saw each player more determined then ever to win, this was a real fine tennis match with both players giving it 100% leaving everything on the court and it really showed.
Ahmed Ibrahim showing why he is here on the tour with his speed and determination but it was Eamonn Martin Snr who dominated this match winning the big points and the long rallies, Eamonn taking the match 6 – 3 and taking home his first 5 points from the tour.

It was a big week of tennis with Simon Hardie taking 15 points but also wild card Paul Lansley, it came down to games against and the winner this week was………………………………non other then the wild card Paul Lansley with Paul just conceding a record of 2 games, congratulations Paul, the winner of week 5 of the BSTC’s.

A special mention goes to Ian Raftery who played a lot better tennis this week collecting 10 points and holding down his number two spot, he commented “This is why I’m here not to make up the numbers like I’ve heard people saying! Its about being number one! I am the best, you just watch! If it wasn’t for Simon this week I would have won, He just winds me up!!!!” uttered a miserable Ian.
