WEEK 4 MIAMI - HARDIE HITS BACK

Simon Hardie Week 4 Champion

World number one Simon Hardie showed the tennis world why he really is the player of the moment.
Sunday night drew the biggest draw of players yet, drawing players Simon Hardie, Ian Raftery, Daniel Mayes, Luke Mayes, Eamonn Martin Jnr, Simon Mayes, Jenny Gray, Eamonn Martin Snr & wild card Ellie Wilson.
There was a feast of amazing matches throughout the night, seeing close tight matches everywhere, there really was some fantastic tennis played.

Round one highlight was Ian Raftery Vs Simon Mayes, in what was an unbelievably tight match with both players playing great, Ian Raftery served to win the match via time limit rule 6 – 5.

Round two saw a top match on every court, Jenny Gray Vs Simon Mayes, Simon Mayes only just taking the match by time limit 5 – 3.
Simon Hardie Vs Eamonn Martin Jnr, Simon Hardie taking this one 6 – 3 Simon Hardie really at his best.
Ellie Wilson Vs Eamonn Martin Snr, this match as close as they come, amazing tennis from both players, great serving and just a great match to watch, Ellie Wilson taking this match 5 – 4 via the time limit rule.
Then there was Daniel Mayes Vs Ian Raftery, after 2 weeks of disappointment from former world number one, Ian Raftery rarely showed signs of his terrible bad spell, he was back and it really hurt his opponent Daniel Mayes big time, Ian Raftery taking this 6 – 2.

Round three saw the clash of the brothers Luke Mayes & Daniel Mayes, Great serving from both players saw this match being played for one glipse at a break point, it was Luke Mayes that showed that he wanted this match more and forcing his brother into errors he would never usually make, getting a late break of serve Luke Mayes winning 6 – 4

Deciding match for this weeks title saw Luke Mayes Vs Simon Hardie, with Simon confident and Luke struggling with a buttocks injury, the signs were looking very much in Simon Hardie’s favour, with Simon taking a 5 – 0 lead, Luke Mayes tried fighting back bringing it back 5 – 3 but it was Simon Hardie that forced his way to winning this match and winning this weeks title in emphatic style, he really did take his game to another level and it looks like he now has breathing room between himself and the other players of the BSTC.
